Our Vision

Mission

Freddie's Sunshine exists with the aim to provide emotional and practical support to parents and families who have lost a child, offering them comfort and an understanding ear from people who have experienced the unfathomable.

History

Founded in 2023, Freddie’s Sunshine has been dedicated to raising funds to create a facility with the vision of supporting grieving families.
The charity was born following the sudden death of Freddie George Beaumont, who sadly died very suddenly and left his parents Aimee & Mark completely lost and devasted, not knowing who they could turn to for support. After contacting a few charities, there wasn’t anything local to Manchester that could offer the respite needed for the parents, and so Aimee and Mark decided to change that, creating a legacy for their son.

Vision

We understand the need families have for support following the death of a child from first hand experience. Our long term aim is to offer face to face support and a place of respite for parents and family members to visit when they need to be in a safe space away from home. We want the families to know they do not have to face their loss alone. Our goal is to continue offering a hand of support and comfort, helping parents feel less isolated and more understood during their grieving process.
Our first initiative; ‘Bags of Sunshine’ has been created to be able to offer an immediate comfort for parents when leaving hospital after the loss of their child. We have created a gift to hand to parents following their child’s death to take home and treasure, and to provide a small comfort to them.
